The Comboni Missionaries dedicate themselves to the spreading of the Gospel and to foster human development in 41 countries worldwide. In Africa they are present in 17 countries.

In SOUTH AFRICA the Comboni Missionaries are in full communion and collaborate with the Local Church, working in the Archdioceses of Pretoria, Johannesburg & Durban as well as in the Diocese of Witbank (where our work initially started in 1923):
  • in First Evangelisation and Pastoral care in a Rural situation: Acornhoek, Waterval and Lydenburg 
  • in First Evangelisation and Pastoral care in an Urban situation: Silverton, Mahube Valley, Orange Farm and Pietermaritzburg
  • in the Formation of leaders, lay ministers, priests and missionaries, and in Mission Promotion and Vocation Promotion, we also administer the Pastoral Centre of the Diocese of Witbank, Maria Trost
  • in Mass Media, through the bi-monthly magazine “Worldwide”, Liturgical Calendar and Mission Publications, which have the objective to help the Local Church be more focused on Mission
  • in promoting Justice and Peace and Reconciliation and integrity of Creation particularly among the Christian Communities where we work
